Instagram is blocked in Russia

Access to the US-based social networking platform Instagram has been blocked on Russian territory as of March 14, according to Russian IT and mass media watchdog. Flow citation reports TASS.

Last Friday, Russia’s Federal Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Media Supervision Service (Roskomnadzor) announced that it has decided to restrict access to Instagram from 00:00 on 14 March.

The Russian media watchdog has previously announced to all Instagram users in the country that they “must post their photos and videos on other social networks and inform their followers”.
