Erdogan, Mitsotakis emphasize importance of Turkey-Greek coop

During the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sunday, the regional benefits of developing bilateral cooperation and positive developments between the two countries were emphasized. Flow citation reports Daily Morning.

According to the statement made by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the two leaders also emphasized the idea that Turkey and Greece have a special responsibility in building Europe’s security in the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In the statement, it was also stated that despite the disagreements between Turkey and Greece, they agreed to keep communication channels open and to develop bilateral relations.

Referring to the steps Turkey has taken to turn a new page in relations with Greece, Erdoğan said that he believes they will take steps to solve the problems in the Aegean Sea, minorities, attempts to fight terrorism, irregular migration and many more.

Noting that the problems can be solved through sincere and honest dialogue, Erdoğan said that the two neighboring countries should always be in contact in times of crisis.
